VASKIVAARA

Biography

Multidisciplinary Sound Artist From Finland

I am a sound artist working at the edge of voice and emotion, where ancient vocal traditions meet modern sonic landscapes. My work draws from ancient Finnish and Karelian vocal traditions —oral practices shaped by grief, connection, and survival. I honor these lineages through live performance, layered recordings, and immersive sound environments.

The voice, for me, is both instrument and archive—a way to speak with the past while shaping the present. Rooted in the Finnish forest, my practice is a ritual of remembering and reimagining. It is about tenderness, resilience, and the stories we carry in our breath.
